In 2013 Tata Motors entered the Australian market and now it’s expanding its global reach with the launch its passenger vehicle range into Algeria.

The range includes the hatchback twins Tata Indica and Tata Vista as well as the Tata Indigo and Tata Manza sedans.

SPA Elsecom distributes 10 automotive brands in the region and last year achieved sales in excess of 340,000 vehicles, will handle all marketing and distribution functions for Tata Motors.

Tata Motors and SPA Elsecom have set up dealerships at Algiers and Oran, with plans underway to establish 10 additional sales and service centres to cover important regions, by the end of this year.

Mr. Johnny Oommen, Head- International Business, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, “We are delighted to enter Algeria, which promises to be an important market for us. Our entry into Algeria is aligned to the Company’s Horizonext strategy, with an objective to provide the best customer experience – from the best vehicle experience to superlative purchase experience and after-market service support. We are confident that our global expertise, coupled with the strong presence of our distributor partners and customer-centric focus, will help us establish our products in this exciting market and will help us reach a wide customer-base.”

Tata Motors began its international journey in 1961 and today the company has a presence across Europe, Latin America, Africa, Russia, Middle East, Asia and in 2013 Australia, with the introduction of the Xenon LCV range.

“We congratulate Tata Motors on their expansion into the Algerian market and the introduction of their passenger car range as well as the Horizonext strategy”. said Tata Motors Australia Managing Director Darren Bowler.

“Our energies are focused on establishing the Tata brand and the Xenon light commercial vehicle, so in the short term we don’t plan to introduce passenger cars. However, Tata Motors Australia certainly prides itself on delivering Tata’s Horizonext strategy of excellent customer service, through our expanding dealer network”.
