Tuesday, 13 October 2015

Victorian Tata Motors Dealer Ferntree Gully Autosales, placed their Assistant Workshop Manager Jeremiah Wallace in the top three at the 2015 Tata Motors Technician Competition (Tech Fest).

The regional final was hotly contested by Tata Motors technicians from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Mr Wallace won the opportunity to represent Australia at Tech Fest after winning the Australian final in August.

The competition that was held in Bangkok on the 30th September had technicians compete in three stages, these being a Physical test on a live vehicle, written theory test and a face to face interview with candidates being provided a set of questions and scenario’s. The three stages of the competition were assessed and their responses rated by a panel of 3 members.

Mr Wallace proudly represented Australia to a respectable 2nd Runner up position against technicians from larger Tata Motors distributor markets of Thailand and Indonesia. His placing in the top three will see Mr Wallace move onto represent ASEAN in the global round to be held in India late November.

Mr. Oliver Lukeis, Chief Operations Officer of Tata Motors Australian distributor Fusion Automotive said “As a relatively new distributor of Tata Motors products we are very proud of Jeremiah’s performance at Tech Fest.”

“Competitions like Tech Fest are not only great to showcase technician’s skills and abilities they are also a great environment to share skills and knowledge across Tata Motors products. We would like to thank Jeremiah for his time and wish him all the best on the final round”.

Mr Wallace said “It was a great experience and opportunity to represent Australia in the ASEAN final. It was a great insight into some of the other Tata Motors markets in the region and I look forward to the global finals in November”

“Working in a multi-franchise environment, events like Tech Fest allow me to learn and develop skills that help me diversify my experience and knowledge of Tata Motors products.”
