Tata Motors, Australia’s newest light commercial vehicle brand introduces a world first ownership program for its Xenon range: “Tata Motors Tough Cover”.


Tata Motors Tough Cover, is an ownership program unique for light commercial vehicles under $30,000 in the Australian market incorporating the following:


• Four Years / 100,000km Factory Warranty
• Four Years / 60,000km Capped Price Servicing
• Four Years Roadside Assistance


All MY15 Tata Xenons will be updated to include Electronic Stability Control doubling the 4x2 dual cabs current ANCAP safety rating to 4 stars.

Tata Motors Tough Cover includes:


Four Years Warranty – The only sub $30K light commercial vehicle range with a four-year, 100,000km factory warranty is the Tata Xenon.


The warranty is not an off the shelf product, but a complete Factory Bumper-to-Bumper new car warranty and covers 100 per cent of the Xenon.


Four Years Capped Price Servicing –The Xenon has a four-year/60,000km capped price scheduled servicing program.


The Xenon’s service program is inclusive of a complimentary (no charge) service at 3,000km followed by scheduled services at 15,000kms, 30,000km and 45,000km with the final scheduled service performed at 60,000kms.


The cost per scheduled service is $385.00 inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants.


Over the four years and/or 60,000km of motoring, the total cost of the scheduled servicing is $1,540.00, excluding wear and tear items.


Four Years Roadside Assist – Ahead of the field once again is the Xenon, it’s the only sub $30K light commercial vehicle to have a four-year roadside assist program. The 24/7 roadside assist program operates Australia wide.


The introduction of Electronic Stability Control to the Tata Xenon gets it a four-star ANCAP safety rating.


Currently passenger cars sold in Australia must be fitted with ESC, however light commercial vehicles are presently exempt.


ESC is a computerised technology that improves the vehicle stability by detecting and reducing loss of traction (skidding). The Bosch engineered Electronic Stability Control (ESC) added on MY15 models complements the Xenon’s current safety features of Antilock Brakes, Front Seat Belt Pretensioners and Dual Front Airbags.


When ESC detects loss of steering control, it automatically applies the brakes to help "steer" the vehicle where the driver intends to go. Braking is automatically applied to wheels individually, such as the outer front wheel to counter oversteer or the inner rear wheel to counter understeer.


The addition of ESC introduces several other technologies to the Xenon range including Traction and Hill Hold control as well as Drag Torque Control, which prevents the rear wheel locking up when downshifting on slippery roads to maintain directional stability.


Another feature is Hydraulic Brake Assist, which detects an emergency braking situation and applies additional braking force to ‘assist the driver in decelerating the vehicle as quickly as possible; whereas Electronic Brakeforce Distribution changes the amount of braking power sent to each wheel. The Xenon range consists of a Single Cab Chassis, Single Cab Pick-up and Dual Cab Pick-up with a choice of 4x2 or 4x4 drivelines.


All Xenon’s are powered by a fuel efficient, Euro 5 emission compliant, 2.2 litre DOHC 16 valve VGT turbo diesel producing 110kW and 320Nm. It’s one of the top ranked diesel light commercial vehicles in the Australian Government Green Vehicle guide and has a combined cycle of 7.4L/100km.


With a payload of up to 1080kgs and 2500kgs towing capacity, the Xenon is a favorite with tradies.


Inside, the TATA Xenon features cloth trim, air conditioning, Bluetooth, power windows, USB input with iPod connectivity, captain chair style armrests on the front seats, and remote central locking with immobiliser. Dual cab models also have sat nav and a reversing camera as standard.
